Prairie Wests goal is to provide a healthy, accident-free workplace for all our employees, contractors and visitors. It is the responsibility and the commitment of the managers and supervisors to provide leadership in the health, safety, and environment programs, establish a health, safety and environmental policy (and procedures) and provide proper training and equipment.

Our company also utilizes services such as; ADP and Cortex for faster accounts receivable processing methods.

Safety Training

Prairie West aims to provide our employees with the best possible training to ensure proper safety when hauling your equipment. The minimal training that a driver must have in order to be employed by Prairie West is;

  • H2S
  • First Aid/CPR
  • TDG

We also encourage our employees to attend;

  • G.O.D.I/P.D.I.C
  • PST
  • Cargo Securement
  • Hours of Service (Log Books)

WHMIS and TDG certificates can be completed and issued in house by our Safety Coordinator and the rest of the courses are instructed by local training institutes.

Safety Equipment

All Prairie West trucks are equipped with GPS devices and safety devices such as; tire chains, 2-way radios, first aid kits, spill kits, accident/incident kits, fire extinguishers, PPE and emergency triangles that are all inspected once a month by the Safety Representative.
